Starting the Tra Vinh Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project

This morning (January 19), at Sam Bua Hamlet, Luong Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh District, the Tra Vinh Department of Construction, in collaboration with the joint venture between Tri Viet Power Co., Ltd. and Greenity Hau Giang Co., Ltd., held the kickoff ceremony for the Tra Vinh Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project.

The Tra Vinh Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project was awarded to the joint venture between Tri Viet Power Co., Ltd. and Greenity Hau Giang Co., Ltd.. The project has a daily domestic waste treatment capacity of 350 tons, expandable to 500 tons/day; total investment is approximately VND 560 billion, fully funded by the investor. The implementation timeline is 360 days, with an operational lifespan of 30 years.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Nga, Director of Greenity Tra Vinh Co., Ltd., commits to ensuring the project schedule.

 

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, emphasized that to ensure the project is implemented on schedule, the joint venture should accelerate project documentation, submit it for appraisal by competent authorities, and complete construction permitting procedures... to enable groundbreaking and timely operation. The construction process must ensure labor safety and work quality.

In the coming period, the Department of Construction, in coordination with relevant departments and local authorities, will provide full support to the investor in project development, appraisal, and permitting...

Mr. Vu Viet Dung, General Director of DFS Construction Group JSC, spoke on behalf of the EPC general contractor, affirming the commitment to securing capital for project implementation.

 

As the representative of the EPC general contractor, Mr. Vu Viet Dung, General Director of DFS Construction Group JSC, expressed his enthusiasm to be involved in the project. He also extended sincere thanks to the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee, and relevant departments for their strong support, and affirmed the company's commitment to ensuring sufficient capital for the successful execution of the project.

On this occasion, the investor and contractor donated VND 200 million to the provincial Social Security Fund, and VND 50 million to the Chau Thanh District Social Security Fund.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Mr. Nguyen Trung Hoang, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, acknowledged and appreciated the performance of departments in complying with procedures in line with provincial directions. This is an important project, launched at the beginning of 2025 to welcome Lunar New Year – Year of the Snake, and toward the 95th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (03/02/1930 - 03/02/2025), the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2025), and the upcoming Party Congresses at all levels...

Mr. Nguyen Trung Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, requests the contractor to ensure timely project progress.

 

Vice Chairman Nguyen Trung Hoang requested that the investor and contractor mobilize all resources to carry out construction in accordance with the approved investment schedule. The construction must strictly comply with environmental standards, ensure the quality of the project, and protect the living and production environment of the surrounding communities.

He also emphasized the need for the investor and contractor to prioritize hiring local labor to create job opportunities for local residents.

Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, departments, and the investor perform the symbolic activation of the project.

 

* Currently, Tra Vinh Province has two solid waste treatment facilities invested in by private enterprises: one in Tra Cu District with an incineration capacity of 40 tons/day-night, and one operated by Vina Encoorp, currently treating 48 tons/day of sorted household waste in Tra Vinh City. Additionally, the province has five incinerators invested by the State in the districts of Cau Ngang, Duyen Hai, Cau Ke, and Cang Long, with a combined capacity of around 58 tons/day-night.

According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the total volume of household solid waste in the province exceeds 574 tons/day (urban areas account for over 183 tons/day, and rural areas over 391 tons/day).
