Launching ceremony of Tra Vinh Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project

With the approval of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman, on January 19, 2025, at Sam Bua Hamlet, Luong Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh Department of Construction together with Tri Viet Power Company Limited and Greenity Hau Giang Company Limited held the launching ceremony of Tra Vinh Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project.

Attending the ceremony were the following officials: Mr. Le Van Han, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee – Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Ms. Duong Thi Ngoc Tho, Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee – Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Nguyen Trung Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Committee – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Kien Banh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Le Minh Tan, Member of the Provincial Party Committee – Director of the Department of Construction; Deputy Directors of the Department of Construction; Ms. Thach Thi Sa Thy, Chairwoman of Chau Thanh District People’s Committee; representatives of Luong Hoa Commune People’s Committee; representatives of the joint venture between Tri Viet Power Co., Ltd. and Greenity Hau Giang Co., Ltd., along with a large number of local residents.

Speaking at the kickoff event, Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction emphasized: In order for the Tra Vinh Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project to be implemented on schedule as approved by competent authorities, I request the joint venture between Tri Viet Power Co., Ltd. and Greenity Hau Giang Co., Ltd. to concentrate all resources to accelerate project preparation, submit it for appraisal, and complete the application for a construction permit… so that the project can soon commence construction. The project must be completed and put into official operation on time, ensuring occupational safety and construction quality.

In the coming time, the Department of Construction commits to continuing close coordination with relevant provincial departments, local authorities (Sam Bua Hamlet, Luong Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh District People’s Committee, and Tra Vinh City People’s Committee) to facilitate all procedures for the investor during the project preparation, appraisal, construction permitting… aiming to complete and put the project into effective operation as soon as possible.

The Tra Vinh Solid Waste Treatment Plant Project was awarded to the joint venture between Tri Viet Power Co., Ltd. and Greenity Hau Giang Co., Ltd. with a designed treatment capacity of 350 tons of domestic waste per day, expandable to 500 tons/day; total investment capital of approximately VND 560 billion, 100% funded by the investor; implementation period of 360 days; and an operational life of 30 years.

Vice Chairman Nguyen Trung Hoang requested the investor and construction contractor to actively coordinate with relevant authorities to promptly complete the necessary procedures to meet the legal conditions for project commencement.

– Focus all available resources to implement the project on schedule in accordance with the approved investment plan; strictly comply with environmental standards during construction, ensure quality, and protect the surrounding environment, residents’ lives, and livelihoods.
– The Tra Vinh provincial leadership is committed to accompanying the investor during the implementation of the project; provincial departments and local authorities are ready to create the most favorable conditions to support administrative procedures under their management, helping the investor complete the project soon, contributing to making Tra Vinh an attractive destination for investors.
